Netaji Subhas Open University Distance Education - NSOU, Kolkata

Netaji Subhas Open University is also known as NSOU. The University is a State Open University declared by the Chief Minister of the State in 1997. It is recognized by UGC, DEC and Governor of Bengal. It is also a member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Association of Asian Open Universities (AAOU) and Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). It is the tenth open university in the country and the ninth in the state. It has also been accredited with 'A' grade by NAAC.

NSOU spreads quality education in a flexible manner across the state and provides access to various skill-enhancing educational programs. NSOU provide education in the vernacular i.e. Bengali and make it available at a low cost to the underprivileged people. NSOU provides the possibility of lifelong education to those interested in studying. NSOU Contributes to the existing body of knowledge through research and extension activities. Admission Process 

Register: In the first step, applicants have to register using their mobile number and email address.

Verify: The university will confirm via OTP or SMS.

Fill out the application form: Now the candidates can fill out the application form, where they have to fill in their details and qualification details properly.

Document Upload: Candidates must upload the scanned documents along with the application form.

Application Fee: In the last step, candidates have to pay the application fee online through a debit card, credit card, or internet banking.

Documents to be uploaded along with the application:

• A scanned copy of the colour passport-size photograph.
• Scanned copy of the original qualifying examination certificate, mark, and KYC document (like an Aadhaar card, PAN, voter ID, etc.)
• Scanned copy of all original documents showing date of birth, i.e., grade, matriculation certificate, transfer certificate, or letter certificate issued by the school authority.

FAQ 

Ques. How do I pay the course fee?

Ans. The fee can be paid online (through payment gateway) and offline (through bank challan) mode. For more details on the payment method, please refer to the detailed admission notice or online admission process instructions on the university website.

Ques. Can I send my application by post or do I have to submit it in person?

Ans. The application cannot be sent by post, as the eligibility criteria verification process at the admission step is ongoing at your chosen study centre.

Ques. Can I change my subject after admission?

Ans. Requests to change subjects after admission to the BDP course will not be granted under any circumstances. Applicants should therefore be very careful in choosing their field of study/subject before admission.

Ques. When and where should I submit assignments?

Ans. You should submit the answer to the assignment in your study center by the date indicated in the assignment.
