The university was initially called Andhra Pradesh Open University and was established on 26 August 1982 under the AP State Legislative Act (APOU Act 1982). Dr BR Ambedkar University Distance Education MBA

First launched in 1993, the MBA program aims to provide graduates with skills to manage daily life and solve important business problems. They also have a second option for interested candidates if they have a valid MBA degree from this institution. The success of BRAOU is incredible because they have been doing this for 27 years in a row and provide the following facilities to the candidates to enroll in MBA:

The program lasts for two years, with a maximum extension of four years. The language used for both instruction and response is English. The continuous assessment method is used to evaluate candidates, and assignments account for 30% of the total weight. 70% is due for the Term End Examination (Externals), which is conducted following each semester's conclusion. 3. CA, ICWA and CS

Accordingly, admission to BRAOU is not merit based. Candidates are required to appear for the entrance exam. Rank obtained in the Telangana/Andhra Pradesh Entrance Test (ICET) is mandatory for admission in BRAOU. Entry is by rank and places are allocated.
